Management Team

Matt Miller


Matt is one of our founding partners and is responsible for sales, marketing and strategic partnership initiatives. He has in excess of fifteen years of sales, operations & marketing experience in the residential, commercial, and government sectors with expertise in utility expense recovery, utility management, sub-metering installations, sustainability programs, and regulatory compliance. Matt has worked for Viterra Energy Services,Ista North America, Conservice Utility Management & Billing and most recently for Yardi Systems serving as an Industry Principal. Matt has regularly appeared as a panelist and speaker at national events throughout North America including NAA, NMHC, PM Expo, Buildex and BOMA events. Matt is a graduate of San Diego State University.

Brian Galla

Executive VP of Operations

Brian has been in the real estate management business since 1991.  He was Lincoln Property Company, a property management and real estate development firm with a portfolio exceeding 100,000 multifamily units, for 15 years serving multiple capacities including Leasing Consultant, Property Manager, Regional Systems Coordinator and Director of Technology.  In 2008 he began working with Pinnacle Property Management, a firm managing a portfolio of 150,000 units, as Director of Client Services. He was responsible for all IT and software implementation, training and support. In 2010 Brian started with Yardi Systems, a global software/services solutions provider to the real estate market. He served in multiple roles with Yardi including Regional Sales Executive, Industry Principal of Sales for Call Center, Help Desk and Cloud Service, and Director of Insurance Operations.

Mike Composono


Mike is one of our founding partners and is responsible for sales, marketing and strategic partnership initiatives. Prior to starting Certus he served as the Risk Management industry principal for Yardi Systems focused on delivering the automated Yardi Risk Management Solutions to the real estate industry. Composono has more than twenty years of sales as well as operations experience in the multi-family & commercial sectors with expertise in risk mitigation, utility expense, recovery, utility management, and sub-metering installations. Mike was a founding partner of Multifamily Insurance Group an insurance agency focused on providing specialty products to the multi-family sector that was purchased by Yardi Systems two years after being started. Mike earned a B.S. in Communications from Marquette University.

Ravi Kandala

VP of Business Development

Ravi began his career in the multi-family and real estate industry in 2002. Ravi started as a commercial broker and asset manager in Connecticut before moving to Chicago in 2004. He spent 11 years in Chicago, Il and most recently moved to Austin, TX in 2015. While in Chicago, Ravi worked for Jupiter Communities, an owner operator of 25,000 units, as Director of Real Estate services which included operations, asset management and acquisitions. Ravi also helped develop and implement Jupiter’s third party management division. Most recently he was the RVP for Valet Waste. He oversaw sales and operations for 16 states in the Midwest and Northeast. He has extensive knowledge in contract negotiations, operations, and asset management. Ravi has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a graduate degree from San Diego State.

Allen Miller


In 2008 Allen formed Sterling Consulting to advise borrowers in distressed debt situations. Assembles all pertinent information to substantiate a current valuation of collateral and guaranties as well as identifying potential sources of capital to fund a settlement with the lender. Assists the client in negotiating a settlement with the lender as well as negotiating terms with the new capital source. Has helped clients settle cases for borrowers with loans in FDIC receivership, held by banks subject to loss-share agreements with the FDIC, hedge funds, insurance companies, conduit lenders and operating banks. Worked in the real estate industry for 20 years beginning with a group focused on rural interstate development where he initially focused on arranging for financing, overseeing operations until businesses were sold, and negotiating leases with tenants.

Mike Parker

VP of Sales, West

Mike Parker – Vice President of Sales, West.  Mike handles all areas of sales and sales management in the Western US.  His experience includes more than 20 years in the multi-family industry covering several key vendor areas.  Mike has worked in sales and sales operations with some of the most respected companies in the industry covering advertising and marketing, screening and utility billing.  His specialties are building great sales teams and lasting client relationships.  Mike graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.A. in Business.
